Sunday Hampton Quickie Recap by Pauly

You know the phrase by now. Never miss a Sunday show. You really shouldn't miss any shows, but Sundays are reserved for the church of Phish. Hampton attracted the most devoted and pious members of the community. The zealots were treated to a spiritual revival that could convert the heathens and appeal to the most hardened, jaded vets.

Not much filler on Sunday. Guess Phish was irked that a performance at the Mothership was going as low as $10 for extras in Shakedown. If you blew off Hampton, you missed a slew of covers including Taking Care of Business, which even tickled the Ghost of Fat Elvis (the king loved the phrase TCB). Never thought I'd hear Phish dick around with BTO, so there you go!

The second set kicked off with a legit bustout -- Paul & Silas -- and the show was anchored by a 20+ minute Tweezer. I'll throw the thesaurus out the window; listen yourself and come up with your own flowery adjectives. The Tweeze-Golden Age ate up a 40-minute chunk of pure gold.

We even got a Sunday night dance party with a wild rumpus consisting of 2001 > Sand. Other highlights included 46 Days and a soul-tickling Slave. I polished off the rest of the Shaman shrooms and I hung out with the Cincy crew three rows behind the stage. I had a crazy view of Fish all night. My boy is a machine, or alien. Maybe both.

Three shows in Hampton are dunzo. The circus resumes Tuesday in Rochester. See ya in the lot.
